How we handle your information
What we collect when you send a brief, why, who handles it, and what you can ask us to do.
What we collect
The details you put in the brief form: your name, email, an optional phone number, product link, what you're making, your package, any note, a launch date, and any files or links you add. Files you upload are kept in private storage and opened only by us. On the private storyboard page we record that it was opened, any changes you ask for, and your approval (the name you type and a scrambled form of your network address, not the address itself), so we can show what was agreed. We also record which link or site brought you to us, so we know which of our channels works. To stop misuse of the upload feature, we keep a short-lived, anonymised record (a scrambled form of your network address, not the address itself) of upload requests.
The brief form has an optional "Speak instead of typing" button. If you use it, your browser's own speech recognition turns your voice into text in the message box (in some browsers, such as Chrome, the audio may be processed by the browser's maker). We never receive or store any audio, only the text you choose to send.
How we use it
To reply to you, make your film, and send you emails about your order. We don't sell your information and we don't send marketing to people who haven't asked.
Who handles it
We use a few services to run the studio: Vercel for the website and basic page-view statistics (without cookies), Google Tag Manager to measure which pages and links work (tools loaded through it, such as Google Analytics, may set cookies), Supabase to store your brief and order details, Resend to send our emails, Anthropic (the maker of Claude) to help us write a first draft of your storyboard, and Zoho for our inbox. For the draft we send only what you wrote about your product, such as your product link, the kind of film and your answer, and never your name, email or phone number. We read and edit every draft ourselves. Payments will be handled by a payment provider, which receives what it needs to take payment. We don't see your card details.
Your choices
You can ask us to show, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing hello@overnightcut.com. We keep project files for as long as we need them to deliver and support your film, and delete them when you ask.
Our terms explain how an order works, prices, revisions and what you own.
